Palmetto Bay Renovations Update

[MIAMI, FLORIDA, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5, 2025] — Please take a look at this important video from Pastor Carlos and Mrs. Debbie Estevill about our Palmetto Bay Campus.

We understand this news may bring several questions to mind, so our CF Academy and CF Kids Teams have provided answers to a few anticipated questions in our FAQ below.

CF Kids FAQ

Why is the CF Kids building closing?

During this time, it has been made known to us that all of our buildings at the Palmetto Bay Campus need to go through a 40-year inspection required by law. In order to prepare for the inspection, we need to remove all the coral around the columns in our CF Kids building. This is a very laborious and time-consuming process and it can only be done if the building is closed.

Will the CF Kids building remain safe to use until it officially closes for inspection?

Yes, our engineers approved the safety of the building until inspections begin.

When will CF Kids temporarily move to Building 1000?

May 25th will be the first Sunday that CF Kids will be operating out of building 1000.

How long will the inspection period take?

We anticipate the inspection process will take several months and are projected to be completed by August. We will communicate more definite dates as we get closer to the completion of the project.

Where will CF Kids be relocated during this time?

CF Kids will be meeting in Building 1000 temporarily while the inspection takes place. We’ve carefully planned this move to ensure a smooth and great experience for your child.

Check-In & Drop-Off

Where will I check in my child?

Our regular CF Kids Check-In stations will be located at the entry points of Building 1000. Our team will be there to help guide you through the process and offer the same safe and secure experience for all our families.

Will drop-off and pick-up procedures change?

Yes, drop-off will be in different classrooms located in Building 1000. We will have signage and team members to help guide you to the correct room for your child.

Safety

How will you ensure my child’s safety in the new space?

Safety is our top priority, our policies and procedures will remain the same.

Will classrooms be the same as before?

While the layout may be different, we have arranged age-appropriate environments to ensure kids continue to learn in a safe and fun environment.

Experience

Will my child’s experience be different in the new location?

While the space may look different, our commitment to helping kids follow Jesus remains the same. Kids will still engage in worship, Bible stories, small group activities, and fun experiences while in CF Kids.

Will class times remain the same?

Yes! CF Kids will continue to meet during our regular service times.

Who can I contact if I have more questions?

Please email any additional questions to cfkids@cfmiami.org.

CF Academy FAQ

We invite CFA parents to attend our meeting (we will have two dates available, more information to come) where we will answer any other questions and concerns.

Will this affect the academic progress of my child proceeding to the next grade level?

No, this change will not affect the academic progression of our students. The updated calendar has been approved by FAACS (Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools) and children will be able to progress according to their academic level.

Will CFA be providing ESD for parents during the seven adjusted school days?

At this time, we will not be able to house students from May 27th to June 4th, as we will be utilizing the available rooms in Building 1000 for our K4 program.

Will there be Summer Camp for preschool this year?

We will provide Summer Camp for K4 - K5 students and possibly K3 as long as we have the minimum number of students to proceed. As always, enrollment will be weekly and will be first come, first serve until capacity is met.

How will this affect VPK?

This change will not affect our K4 VPK classes. If your child is enrolled in the K4 VPK 3-hour morning class or in the K4 full day program, we will continue classes through the original final day of school: June 4th. These 7 days will be half days (8:15am - 11:15am). If your child is enrolled in the K4 VPK 3-hour afternoon class, the final day of school will remain June 6th.

Will the 2025 - 2026 school year begin on time?

Barring any major setbacks, we will open school as planned on August 14th. That being said, we will continue to keep you updated if any changes occur.

When will we know the updated end of the year event schedule (awards, graduations, parties, etc.)?

We will be sending home an updated calendar before spring break with all of our updated events.
