South Asia

Our Missionaries:
Psalm 67 tells about the truth that people from all people groups will worship God and that every people group will experience ultimate joy. In light of these truths, we are directly supporting three missionaries in South Asia. These missionaries are focused on training and developing pastors to plant churches to reach those who have never heard about Christ.

Alok
Alok accepted Christ in 1998. He was with his uncle, attending a seminar and there were many sick people there, which his uncle and others prayed over for healing. After a few months, Alok witnessed healing of many of those who were sick. At that time, his uncle shared the Gospel with him and Alok believed that there was only one God, Jesus Christ. Since then God has burdened Alok to share the Gospel with the Gorkha peoples. Pray for Alok and his team as he trains and develops pastors to plant churches among the Gorkha peoples.

Chandra
Chandra was born and raised in a Hindu family and was very devoted the Hindu faith. While suffering from a near fatal illness, he prayed to the Hindu gods for healing. When his condition worsened, he became discouraged and felt abandoned by his gods. That’s when he was visited by someone who shared about Jesus Christ and prayed over him. Chandra was healed and accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior. As God continued to work in his life, He placed a burden on Chandra’s heart to reach the unreached through church planting and evangelism. Three years ago, Chandra and his wife started a ministry to reach the Nepalese people in South Asia. As the ministry continues to grow, they have witnessed God’s hand move in mighty ways and are seeing the fruits of their labors through the people who are coming to Christ and being baptized.

Surujit
Surujit accepted Christ in June of 1994. Since then he has grown in his faith by becoming a teacher and church planter. Surujit’s vision is to see, “A church in every community, planted by ordinary people, equipped with practical skills, and encouraged to work together.” Pray for Surujit as he trains pastors to plant churches to reach the Bairagi people. Surujit will train 20-25 pastors who will each plant one to two churches over the next year.
