Let It Be
Today's Reading Passage: Judges 6:24
The Beatles song, “Let It Be,” was a popular hit in the 70’s, promoting peace and love to a generation of young people that desired a world free from war, hate, and enemies. It’s the same today. You would like to live in a world where love reigns. Wars around the world, economic hardship, earthquakes, floods, and daily living can easily rob you of your inner peace.
Gideon felt the same way as you probably do at times. Judges 6:24 describes the result of Jehovah-Shalom showing up and revealing Himself when Gideon needed Him most. Perhaps you need God to show up for you today. God promised Gideon He would be with him to defeat the enemy, though he was afraid.
Perhaps today you’re afraid. God promised Gideon victory. Jehovah-Shalom, The Lord Our Peace, desires for you to have peace within. He wants you to know the victory is yours. Gideon didn’t have a different God than you! The same God that promised to be with Gideon in the midst of the fear the enemy, is the same God that stands ready to defeat your obstacles and fears.
